Re: Irish BDM registrations
Hello Elwyn, Thanks for your thoughts. I had also wondered about Mary McAtee's (nee Breslin) name on that lease in the valuation. My thinking was she originally held the lease {part (e) of section 1} along with other family members (all Breslins ---possibly brothers) who held parts (a),(c) (d) of th...

Re: Irish BDM registrations
Hello again Nina, Sorry to hear of your recent loss of your parenst but you have the satisfaction of knowing you were thee for your mother when she needed you. And family history research can be time very consuming and you need to be focused in order to keep all the links together. I've pretty well ...

Re: Irish BDM registrations
Well hello Nina, I believe we spoke some years back on the forum here. John McEntee did indeed marry MaryAnn McAloon in Glasgow in 1870. The registrar entered a few erroneous details on their marriage registration. John's mother's name was Breslin rather than Bresley. The registrar spelled Maryann's...

Re: Irish BDM registrations
Hello again Elwyn, I believe you are exactly correct. Based on what you said I obtained the image and that 1927 Margaret McEntee death occurred in Eshnadarragh townland which is quite close to Eshywulligan townland. The death was registered by a nephew, James McAloon also of Eshnadarragh and notes s...

Re: Irish BDM registrations
Hello Elwyn, Thank you for your info. Of course with Irish death registrations, owing to the lack of spouse and parent's names, confirmation is always going to be a problem. I will look into that Linaskea death, although the age is a long way off (she was shown as 67 in 1911). But with all her immed...

Irish BDM registrations
Hello all, I have a quick question some knowledgeable members may be able to help me with. It concerns Irish records. Post partition, are Northen Ireland BDM (GRONI) records completely separate from the Republic's records. What I mean is, would a death which occurred in Fermanagh post 1922, not be i...

Re: Emigration from Scotland
The Australian census records are abysmal. They are nothing like the Scottish, US, British or even Irish census details. Once the census statistics information was collated, all personal information was destroyed. Don't ever expect to see your great grandfathers family on an Australian census return...

Irish records
Hello all, I have a query regarding online records for Irish BDM as per the official Irish Genealogy.ie site. I found that a lot of search results have images that are freely available yet others from the same location and time period are simply Index details as per PRONI. For example I have a birth...
