on a cold and frosty morning.
Also I showed my grandchildren the art of stoating balls against walls, unfortunately the rhymes us girls used to say are long forgotten.
Bobby[ used to be in Wishaw]

Ninatoo your rhyme sounds like it might be the beginning of a longer tale, which might even include the pie and umbrella. The only bits I remember are :

Says he to me "could you go a pie"
Says I "Aye" quite shy
Says he to me "Have ye ony money"
Says I "No"
Says he "well hoo he ye expect tae get a pie?"
Well!
I was that insulted I lifted up my umbrella and walked oot.
'Twas then he followed me ...

I wish I knew what happened next :lol:

I am also a Falkirk Bairn although i now live in Fife
My favourite was
Desperate Dan a funny wee man
He washes his face in the Frying Pan
Combes his hair with the leg of the chair
Dan Dans a funny wee man

there is another but maybe i better not add that one. :wink:

I saw Kate McLeary
Sittin' oan her bumbaleerie
Eatin' chocolate biscuits
