Re: Creating partial family Gedcoms

Hi Hibee & Mary

Right I'm being thick - again

I thought I did as suggested, chose my furthest back chap on the selected line then clicked descendants but nothing happened except to add the person my highlighter happened to be sitting on. Tried again and got the entire contents of my full tree listed.

Please don't say that I have to go down the index and individually pick out the names I want to put in the tree? No, surely not. O me miserum.

I still have FTM 2003 - maybe will have to upgrade. See an offer for 2008 with 3 months Ancestry UK. See also that there is a 2010 and a brand new 2011. Any hot tips on where to go?

Hi Lorna

Just went through the process again, and it does work with me.

I prefer FTM 2006 to 2010, but that's just a personal view.

Hello Hibee

When you click on the main name it appears on the right. When you click on descendants do they all appear on the right too?

Regards

Oh fantastic =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

I brought up the screen, it had the main name on it. I arrowed (<) him back to the main list then just highlighted his name and clicked descendants and the whole caboodle came up [cheers] [cheers] .

I have half a dozen rellies who are going to be absolutely delighted with this.

Thank you both so much for bringing up a topic so near to my heart and helping me to solve it.

Here's to TS, I say - again \:D/
