I hope all you folks out there keep sending in your computer queries.
I am an almost computer illiterate so am learning an awful lot from other peoples problems.
I had given up with putting the images on my computer and have printed them off.
Will now have a go.

Firefox installed, no apparent difference.Rab wrote:
If this does not work then my advice, you may not wish to try it, would be to download Firefox. It's a great browser but more importantly when if you try it then it would eliminate either Windows or your internet browser being the problem. You can download it, free, from the following page:
http://www.mozilla.org/download.html
Choose Firefox 1.5 for windows (5mb). If this is too big a file to download and install then I understand.
Back to the drawing board?
Thanks for the help,
Thrall
How do I put everything back on IE? Very conservative in these matters!

Hi Rab, after pressing the submit button, there is slight pause then the page with message scrolls down as far as possible and nothing more. Clicking on the back button gives the same page again, one more back click and I´m on the thread.
Just about as frustrating as the potential son in law´s car in the garage, which almost starts, but not quite - probably a semi malfunctioning electronic bit in the distributor which only a diagnostic computer can find. I´ll be practising my towing skills tomorrow.
´Fraid this thread is not slipped, but stripped.
Thanks anyway,
Thrall
PS. Good about the Active X fix from Microsoft though! SP exonerated? I sent a contact note, and Alison answered, seemingly quite pleased!

Very strange indeed. The page scrolling thing you mentioned is something I see from time to time when posting a message but if I give it time the message posts fine.
Between this problem and your active X problem I think your PC is having a bit of a bad time of it. Usually the Windows Updates in XP go a long way to fixing alot of problems.
To be honest I have to say unfortunately I am stumped. I'll keep thinking about it though and see if this brain of mine can eventually kick into gear.

Hmmm.......... are you sure that you're putting something in the Subject boxThrall wrote:Hi Rab, after pressing the submit button, there is slight pause then the page with message scrolls down as far as possible and nothing more. If you are replying to an incoming PM the Subject is automatically copied, but if it's a new PM.................

Hi David, and all others who have desperately tried to help a cobweb-minded eejit. There it was, lack of subject. Reminds me of the time............well I won´t go into that.
Grovel, grovel.
Well I did remark elsewhere today that having got my ActiveX images back, a solution to this would be desirable.....but how....
Thread tapped and sealed,
Just goes to show.
Thank you all again,
Thrall

Excellent!!!
Glad it's all sorted.
Strange though because I am always prompted if I try to send a PM without a subject.
