The time shown is the GMT time, plus or minus what is in your profile. For me this post will show 8.47pm (GMT) as my profile is currently set to GMT. Anybody seeing it at a different time is seeing the time difference as set in their profile.
The times and dates for all posts, PMs and the like are stored as the amount of seconds from the GMT start of 1st January 1970. These are then calculated out and displayed as the date and time that you see.
All the best,
AndrewP

Let's try this....I finally found I had to go from - 12 to +11 GMT to get the correct time showing at the top of the message boards....but I wonder if that will now affect my POST time, since it was already correct according to that last post (thanks Lesley for pointing that out)
Nina
Yep..all correct now

Hi Nina,
It cannot affect the post time, as that is measured as GMT. The time you see is then calculated from GMT according to how many hours ahead or behind GMT you put in your profile.
Only on the odd occasion (not recently), the TalkingScot host company has had the wrong time on their server and then the times shown have all been askew.
All the best,
AndrewP

Russell,
If any more Mornings move into Kilbarchan, I'll need to return for a family reunion again. We had lunch at the Fox n Hound last May, is that in Kilbarchan or on the outskirts of town?
Sporran,
Oh Mr. Morning is still laughing over my panic....but that won't stop me, I'll do the same again next year.
Regards
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn
At risk of drifting so far off topic we'll never get back all I can say is
"Oooh! going up-market"
Renfrewshire has loads of small villages and the Fox & hounds is in Houston & Crosslee which is at least 7 minutes drive away from Kilbarchan.
They make the best seafood platter around and sell the best local brew in the county.
Now you have your clocks sorted do you have a remedy for my head which takes about a fortnight to adjust?
