Since joining I have NEVER been automatically logged in despite ticking the appropraite box.I also , today especially, dont remain logged in, and cant access some referenced TS items.I have read the FAQs but no relevant answers that I can find.Does anybody have any suggestions?

It might be worth your while to clear out all your stored cookies, etc.
I've found that this usually clears up all sorts of anomolies.

If the auto-login is not working, it is most likely down to the security settings on your computer. For that to work, your PC needs to be able to accept cookies from TalkingScot. There are two choices that I can think of if this is not happening: (1) lower your security settings (not recommended) or (2) set TalkingScot as a trusted website to accept cookies from. This function should be in your Internet Options, Security Settings, Trusted Sites.
If that does not solve the issue, you may need to look for a similar function in your firewall program.
Try Mary's suggestion above first - it is quicker and simpler.
