Windows Photo Gallery problem

Post by speleobat2 » Fri May 14, 2010 4:17 pm

Hi all,

This is very strange. My cousin in Western Australia forwarded six jpgs of docuements to me overnight. I downloaded the first three and started to copy them to the Gallery which is what I always do. When the first copy came up I clicked on it to add a Tag so it would be in the index alphbetically. After adding the tag, I went on to the second one then went back to the Gallery to check the first one and discovered that it was there but the index suddenly said Sunday, June 13. I was able to open the picture and change the date in the info section in the upper left corner, but the index still says Sunday, June 13. (The Gallery index gives you the option of clicking on the year and then the month, then the day and date to find a picture.)

I tried shutting down and restarting the computer. If I click on 2010, then May, all the pictures for the month of May come up and today's have the correct date, but the index still says that this is now the month of June and today's pictures are under Sunday, June 13!

Any ideas?

It sounds as if the original jpegs you were sent are dated the 13 of June.

So no amount of re-dating or your part will alter that.
Check with the sender that thier camera or system isn't a month out.

Hmmm. That's a thought. I'll see what she says.

In the meantime, after I made the first post, I went back and copied the fourth jpeg to the Gallery. When I checked the index, June and June 13 had disappeared. May 14 had appeared with the first three jpegs, but not the fourth. When I clicked on 2010, June was back with the fourth jpeg in June 13 again. I haven't done five and six yet!
