selecting text to upload from OPR

Post by wini » Sat Jan 27, 2007 6:25 am

I want to upload an OPR image for deciphering but assume the whole page will be too large.
How to I select the part I want to upload?

Hi Wini,

The whole page should upload okay. It also gives other samples of the handwriting that coud be used to help deciphering the record that you are looking at.

All the best,

Hi Wini,

I guess that you are trying to upload it to your owen gallery space. There are two options.

(1) delete one or more of your older images that have been dealt with some time ago.
or
(2) upload it to the deciphering section of the Gallery where the disk quota should not apply.

All the best,

AndrewP

Hello again Andrew,

I have never uploaded a file to the gallery before, I have found LesleyB's advice to Muriel on the 5th October 2006 but it still doesn't work
Now comes the bit when I really show my Computer Illiteracy, is it because the OPR images are JPEG and not TIFF and can I convert a JPEG to TIFF.
I have Windows XP.

If you open the image in Windows Picture and Fax manager you can click on the little diskette icon at the bottom and copy it. In the "save as" box in the window that pops up click on the down arrow and select tiff. Click on Save.

Done :D

Forget it - Having said all that, it makes the image even bigger

Hi Wini,

A jpeg should upload quite happily into the Gallery. A small number of OPR jpegs have already made it there.

All the best,

Andrew
