PRINTING OPR IMAGE

This is more a problem of my incompetence than the computer itself.
I have XP and IE 7
On one of the OPR images the record I want is the last on the page and it doesn't fit onto the A4 sheet of paper
There is an inch & three quarters taken up at the top of the page with the description.
Can someone tell me what to do? In simple language please.

Probably depends on your printer...

Select [File] -> Print from the menu bar.

You should get a little print dialog. This dialog comes from your printer, and has some (or lots, depending on the printer) of options.

Open menus and click on buttons looking for something like 'fit to page' or 'scale'. If your printer supports it, you might be able to make the printed image smaller, so that it fits on the paper.

ANOTHER IDEA:

Try saving the image to your desktop, and then open the image by double clicking on it. If you are lucky something smarter than IE will open the image and you'll might have more options. (If the file opens in IE, try pointing your mouse at the image's icon on your desktop and then click on the right mouse button once. A menu should open up and I think it should have 'open with' or something like that as one of the options. See if there are any other programs on your computer that might do better than IE.

DESPARATE LAST DITCH EFFORT:

I'm on my way to bed and will be gone for the weekend. If you haven't got what you want by then, save the image to your desktop and post it here or mail it to me. I can edit off the parts you don't want so that you can print it out.

Hi Wini

I save the images to my folder then open them with Irfanview which gives lots of options both for viewing and printing.
It's a free programme and you can simply Google for it and download.

Fairly user friendly too.

I will try as you suggest.
I have saved it
I have 2 printers, a Samsung Laser Printer and I must say a crummy, little Canon Pixma IP 1000 which I don't like but use for colour so will probably succeed with one of them
I have thought of downloading Irfanvview before but will go ahead and do it now with your recommendation Russell

What's a network card and could I install it myself?

If you want to connect two computers and/or connect to a broadband router, you'll need a network card.

It's actually a pretty easy thing to fit, but whether or not setting it up will be easy really depends on the software that comes with it. Most of them are pretty straightforward.

Having said all that, are you connecting to the internet on dialup or broadband? If it is broadband, then you already have a network card. If you are on dialup and are thinking of getting broadband, check the user manual for your PC just to make sure a network card isn't already fitted. If your PC is fairly new, most decent ones come with one already there.

Will look at the handbook.
I have a Toshiba Tecra Notebook and am going to get Broadband installed.
The computer is about 18 months old but what makes me think I need one is when I start up I get a message saying
Wireless not connected
Will send an email to the company I bought it from

Wini,

Could you click on Start, then on Network Connections. What does it say in the window that should come up? Something like "Local Area Connection" or anything else that is there.

It sounds as though your computer has wireless capability built in and it has been enabled but, because you haven't got broadband and, therefore, no wireless router, it is telling you that it cannot connect. If you have wireless installed, then you should have a network card. It would be quite unusual not to.

If you look at the connection port on your computer where your dialup modem plugs in, see if there is another "socket" which is a similar shape but a wee bit bigger. If your ports have wee symbols by them the network one usually has a symbol shaped like three computers in a triangle format.
