Font Size on InterNet Explorer 6
Earlier today, on ScotlandsPeople, I noticed that the screen looked different, and maybe that the text size was a bit larger than I'm used to, causing complications in terms of how SP appeared on my monitor .......
On another site a few minutes later, this was confirmed..........
I didn't change anything, or, more properly expressed, I'm not aware of having changed anything !!
The solution for me was simple.
In the INet Explorer v6 menu, click on "View".
Then click on "Text Size".
Then click on "Medium", thereby restoring the situation to what I'm used to seeing; for some reason, in my case, someone/something had changed the selection to "Large", - wisnae me, honest !!
It's very occasionally happened previously, which is how I knew directly the solution !!

But a very useful function when you've left your specs downstairs and can't be bothered to go back down for them

Hi Mary
I just use 'ctrl' and the scroll wheel to enlarge the print (and page). Saves the old legs from the journey down -then back up - these stairs.

I was given the same tip as Russell gives a few years ago.
Im not even going to go into the confusion that IT people made of the situation, leaving me thinking i had a pc that was of no use.
Another tip - One time my pc was literally screaming and i had no idea what it was - so - if this happens to any of you, unplug then plug back in your key board, screaming over - hopefully.

Can I somehow adapt Russell's tip when I don't have a mouse with a scroll button but the built in "mouse panel" - or is that a silly question?

Hi Lorna:
Without a mouse, the following will do it for you.
To enlarge the view: using your keypad, hold the Control key down and hit the plus symbol. The text increases 10% with each hit on the symbol key.
To reduce the view: using your keypad, hold the Control key down and hit the minus symbol. The text increases 10% with each hit on the symbols key.
To return to the original view: using your keypad, hold the Control key down and hit zero once.
