Hello,

Is anyone else having problems with Family Search?

I keep getting timed out in my searches. If it had only been for a day I wouldn't be bothered but it's been happening constantly over the last 4 days.

I'm starting to get paranoid about sites I'm visiting as I've had a couple of nasty viruses invading my PC over the last couple of weeks, the lastest being yesterday. We had to wipe our C drive last week to get rid of some nasties.

Kind regards,
Annette M

Hi Annette
www.familysearch.org does seem a bit sluggish, though it is working for me... just very slowly.....
Maybe one of their updates is in progress again?

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Annette,

I found Family Search very slow on Saturday and would probably have been timed out if I had had the patience to wait! I've just been on now and although a bit slower than usual, it's much better than it was.

Kind regards,

Alison

Ignore my previous post, Annette. I can't get on at all now

Still, looking on the bright side, at least the problem's not just with you :D

All the best,

Alison

Hello all,
The LDS site Family Search is indeed a wee bit sluggish just now . They have been adding to their data base and I have had quite a bit of success with some new searches because of it so I won't be making too much noise over the long waits for info to pop up. A friend of mine who works for them told me they have some really exciting additions coming soon on top of their digitalization project which will allow us to actually see the image of the info we have found instaed of going to one of their History centers to scroll through the films. you can image the amout of work involved in a task like this but while it is still a few years from compleation it is going to be a lot sooner than originally thought due to the wonders of modern technology.
Happy Hunting,
HeatherH
