Hi there,
I used to get an e-mail notification when someone replied to a post. Is this not done anymore or have I somehow disabled it? I am rather technologicaly challenged.

Hi Melody
It is set up in your profile for email notificatin to be sent to you when someone replies. Only other thing I can think of is to make sure you don't untick the "Notify me when a reply is posted" box when writing a post or replying to one. As far as I remember I think there has been the occaisional technical blip with this, so do keep us informed. It may be a known problem with the forum software.
Did you receive notification about this reply?
Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Cathy
I don't think there is anything very much we can do about it if it is a problem with the forum software.
The only other possibility which springs to mind is that perhaps your email program is diverting the email notifications from Talking Scot as "spam" or "junk mail" and so they are not landing in your inbox? Might be worth checking to see if that is the case if you have not done so already and perhaps add @talkingscot.com to your "safe " list.
Best wishes

Every once in a while, an "unwanted guest" signs up as a member and they post some "unacceptable material" on the board. Sometimes they attach this material to a thread, that you "may be watching?" At which time, anyone who had posted a message on this thread would receive a notification e-mail. But when you return to "view" the topic, you receive the message "that the topic does not exist" because its been moved off the board temporary for "repair." In other words, an AG of TS or a Moderator had moved the thread off the board to remove the offending post.
Hopefully, this will explain another possibility?

Marilyn
