Anyone use a dot matrix printer?

This might seem like a strange question from me but I haven't used a dot matrix printer for

years

Up to now I've printed out charts on A4 paper and then stuck them onto lining wallpaper. After a while I run out of space on these creations (I can't write as small as my printer does

) and have to do it all again.

I've been wondering about getting a dot matrix printer instead. Does anyone else already use one of these? Is it worth getting one?

Do they still make them Mary

I used one for years but found that below 10 pt print they started to get fuzzy round the edges and made me think my eyes had gone funny

If they have reduced the matrix block to cope with smaller print sizes and you have a ribbon supplier near at hand then why not !

Yes, Russell, they are still being made.

Lots of businesses still use them for invoicing and the like.

Hi Mary:

Like Russell, I was wondering if they still made them. I checked an online office supplier, and they are still being sold. I remember the lack of print type and size variation being a problem with Dot Matrix, while others included the time it took to print a document and lack of crispness.

Although I've never printed a banner, my laser printer can print them, and has a sufficient range of printsizes and other functions to produce charts, tables and graphics, in landscape and portrait positions in continuous feed mode.

But there is a problem!

Because so few are now sold, the price of dot matrix printers has gone up over the last few years...........

You would also need to ensure that a driver was available for your operating system software

They must be one of the few computer peripherals that has increased in price over the years!

New ones would have that, but I'd hoped to get a 2nd hand one.

Ho-Hum! Maybe I'll just have to keep going with the Pritt Stick and lining paper
