Second Hand scanner

My B-I-L has recently upgraded his computer and accessories. He gave me his old scanner, which was working perfectly well but he didn't need 2.
When I got it home I saw the CanoScan Setup CD-ROM says it is for
windows 98
Windows 2000 Professional
Windows Millenium edition
I have XP will I be able to set up this scanner. haven't tried yet as I need to get a new USB cable.

The Windows 2000 driver should work OK with Windows XP although if it doesn't try visiting the canon support site at

http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000468.asp

which has drivers for XP

I recently had problems getting my old scanner to work again with XP, dont ask me why, it was working OK until some Microsoft update

I went onto the scanner site and downloaded a driver for my scanner for XP and got a bit of a bonus. It was a newer version and had an added feature of mulitple page scanning which it would not do in the older version

Go for it Wini and get a updated driver.

I will certainly do that I am waiting for the computer shop to send me out the correct USB cable. Will let you know how I get on when that arrives
