Whilst Griffith's is brilliant, it is a one hit wonder. What would be extremely useful would be the publication of the Cancelled Land Books which followed it. Basically these listed each time the land changed hands after the original valuation, more so after 1860, and employed a series of handwritten amendments up to the 1970s, all of which are colour coded. Really handy, for example, if you don't know when someone died, as you can look to see when your ancestor ceased to be the occupier etc.
