Certainly if I ever come across anything on these names I will let you know.

In the meantime there are some wonderful sites that you could look at:-

PRONI have just revamped their website and now have searchable wills. You may well find some info there. PRONI are in the process of having all their Street Directories, from 1800 - 1900, digitaly photographed and they will soon be online (free). www.proni.gov.uk

Another great free site is www.glenravel.com They have some great wee online magazines of old Belfast stories and courtroom reports & the Troubles (but who wants to read about that!). They also have the register for Clifton Street Buriel Ground. I have found loads of my ancestors in the register and it has given me loads of new leads.

Another great free website is www.lennonwylie.co.uk It has quite a few Northern Ireland Street Directories.

I hope this gives you something to get your teeth into!

If you have a specific look-up that you need ie: census look-up (you'll need an address for this, but that is where the street directory will come in handy) then let me know.

Hi Lezlibangor

Huge THANKS for the heads up on the Proni website re-do. It's been more than ages since I dusted off my Irish files but an initial roam in the new wills indexes now found online there makes me hope the digital images of them are coming really really soon!! No confirmed hits but alot of surnames in the generally correct areas. You never know.....I might get lucky!

Thanks again.....and best wishes
Jean

Hi Lezlibangor,
That is good news indeed! Do you have any idea when they will be up? I have an ancestor who popped over to Belfast from Glasgow from about 1820 and stayed until about 1837 (coming back to Glasgow just in time to die just before the 1841 census  ) and the street directories might be the only way to track him down...

Thanks again,
Sarah
