Yup, that's it Andrew - The Housewife's Course, except it was 3 terms, not 3 months.

I learned how to scrub out a rubbish bin, use a Lonnie Donegan scrubbing board and properly "blue" the whites!

Wasn't engaged however, parents just didn't know what to do with this child who wouldn't study and only really wanted to play hockey or read books with a torch under the blankets. Lady Chatterley seems to come to mind. Nowadays the psychologists would have a field day about the younger sister of a brainbox sibling.

Can't wait for Saturday.

Just a thought,

Do folk know about the subway? Take the train from Buchanan Street underground, which is beside Queen Street Station and get off at Kelvinbridge. Five minute walk from there.

When you exit the station, don't go up the steps to Gt. Western Road, turn left and left again, then right. Well, that's how it was then . . . . .

That's how I'll be going - another trip down memory lane.

Inner or Outer Circle?

Post by Jack » Mon Mar 05, 2007 9:07 pm

Hi Anne,
It's much quicker using the Inner Circle from Buchanan St. to Kelvinbridge.
The Outer Circle between these stations would be the "scenic" route.... :)

ps, Lorna - you will need to turn right when you come out of Kelvinbridge station.
The old booking hall in the tenement is now an emergency exit - a new station was built a few years ago.
You'll notice a few changes...!

Who and who? Personal friends of yours?

Looks like I will be heading to Falkirk on the Friday night and coming to Glasgow on Saturday morning. Anyone willing to meet up at Glasgow Queen Street? Last time I was in Glasgow was a good few years ago and that was down at the Barras or a computer place.

I'll look out for you Sheena, since your surname is my maiden name that makes a hello imperative!

Good job you corrected my "subway direction" post Jack. Imagine, a new station in place of that smelly stairway past a wee wummin in a cubby hole. What a demi-centenary event this is turning out to be :D
