Hello to all at the Ireland group,
I am trying to trace my Flannigans to Ireland and as usual on all of the census in Glasgow searches it only says place of birth Ireland. However i may have a lead in that i have found a sister of James Flannigan who married a Passmore and one of the children Francis Passmore was in the poor house in 1871 in Glasgow.
My subscription to emeraldancestor has lapsed but i did see on the free search a Francis Passmore born 1857 in Tyrone, can anyone have a look to see who the parents are for me? I would be ever so grateful.
Thanks
Ailsa

Hi Alex,
Yes Sarah is right i am pleased - thanks for that. I am now assuming that Joseph met and married Eliza(beth) Flannigan in Omagh Co Tyrone. Elizabeth was the sister of James Flannigan who was my gt gt grandfather. I am not sure if James moved to Glasgow or just the family. His wife was Ann Kearnan and they were possibly married around about 1830 - 1840. This is a way of narrowing down at least the area the came from in Ireland.
Many thanks again,
Ailsa
