Thanks Paul! That will be a great resource for many with Irish ancestors.
I couldn't get the original documents to open though, even though I downloaded the DiJaVu reader...not sure why!

Hello Anne & Paul,

It worked okay for me (XP & Firefox). I already had the DiJaVu reader (LizardTech) installed. I didn’t have any Irish people from that time period to check though.

Hi Alan,

I too already had the DjVu reader (LizardTech) installed and have XP & IE. When I clicked on the link all I got was a big white box with a little icon up at the top left hand corner which should have been the image. When it didn't open, I downloaded the DjVu reader again...but same thing.

Actually, I probably don't have anybody in that time period anyway, since as far as I can tell, all of my ancestors came to Scotland around 1851 to 1860's or thereabouts. Still nice to look at the names though. :)

Anne H

Electoral register for Dublin

Post by PaulB28 » Sun Mar 01, 2009 9:27 pm

Hi Alan & Anne

I had no problem opening the orignal documents (once i downloaded DiJaVu reader). I actually found quite a few people on the register mainly because my Great Grandmother Isabella Carrick was one of 15! and most of them still lived in the north dock area of Dublin at that time.

Regards

Paul
