Ambrose from Co Down .....

I am looking for information on the family of Thomas Ambrose b 1823 in Co Down. Thomas came to Scotland and married Agnes Kennedy in Old Luce Wigtownshire 12 January 1847. Thomas Ambrose d 20 January 1900 in Glenluce Wigtownshire.

I am aware that Thomas parents were William Ambrose and Jane Glass. it is possible that Thomas was born in Kircubbin Co Down and had a brother James b 1818 and 3 sisters Sarah b 1813,Mary b 1816 and Jane b 1821.

We visited Co Down last year but couldnt find any other information such as where were his parents born and when, what happened to his siblings as there is no record of any of them coming to Scotland. I must say that I found the staff in Records Office in Belfast very helpfull but unfortunatley as novuces we were unable to find anything out.

Thanks for that I certainly found the freeholders listings very helpfull and may even have found a link for my William Ambrose and have saved this in my favourites while I double check on some information.
