Searching for my Irish relatives: William McLoughlin b1869 Ire; m Susan Brown b 1867 Ire; Emigrated to Philadelphia 1888 and 1889 respectively. Children all born in US according to 1900 US Federal Census.
William b. 6/1893.
Joseph b. 12/1894.
Lizzie b. 3/1898.
Robert b. 4/1900.
They returned to Ireland sometime early 1900's and were reared by a gran or an aunt somewhere in Londonderry I think on a farm.
William, Jnr; fought in WW1 at the Battle of the Somme but I don't know the regiment he was in. I know he was too young to enlist and he lied about his age.
William came to Scotland at the age of 23 years, married a Scot and never returned to Ireland.
He lived until he was 90 and never lost his Irish accent.

Hi there and welcome to TS - Sorry you've not had a reply yet to your post. You'll appreciate that most of the folk on this site are looking for Scottish ancestors, but that doesn't mean we won't try to help people searching in other areas. It's worth "refreshing" your post from time to time as new people are joining TS everyday.
I'm only just beginning my own searching in Ireland, so can't offer too much help at present. However, if you've not done a lot of searching yourself, you might want to have a look at these sites to start you off:-

All the best!

Curiously, I very recently had an email from someone looking for the same family (unless this was the same person..) in response to a message I'd posted on another site looking for my own McLaughlins. The email suggested a connection with Cullybackey.. any further information here?
If this is a different person from the one who emailed me, let me know and I'll put you in touch.
