having waited patiently for 6 weeks i received word today from the new york city department of records that NO record was found of a marriage in 1900 between john & annie. very dissapointing news as on the familysearch site it states there was.
i was wondering if jacks info was not a red herring and that it could be my john married to isabell. i searched on scotlands people , years between 1871 - 1880 and found only one which wasn't mine. i was thinking that the marriage to annie may have been a second marriage and that isabell may have died.
anyone any suggestions as to my next steps in trying to trace him.
regards

This probably doesn't help much but there is a John Nesbitt 24 laborer arriving 11 June 1879 on the St(ate) of Pennsylvania through Castle Garden. See www.castlegarden.org/index.html
