Hi Jean,

Got to this page by googling Rhode Island marriages 1893.

Searched Alexander Longmuir
Start 1892 End 1893

Way down at the bottom of the page, it said 1 record for Alexander Longmuir in blue type.

If I disappear suddenly, it's because my computer is acting up still. Might have to use my neighbors in town if this one quits!

Hi all who are following this,
It turned out to be the birth of their daughter in October of 1892. So one assumes the marriage was the previous year, rather than the following one!

Thanks to all of you! I'm trying to limit my on computer time to 10 minutes or less so I'm holding my breath and typing fast!

Sarah,

I had Eleanor's birthdate down as 1893 I think from Ancestry so no surprise that it was a year off. Still no luck with the marriage cert. for her parents here either. I did have the marriage of Eleanor the child, but don't know who Elisabeth Longmuir is.

One other possiblity is that Eleanor Heron was staying with relatives around Boston and she and Alexander were married there. Alexander was a traveling clothes salesman. This is just a theory that I haven't checked out yet. I haven't found a passenger list arrival for Eleanor yet.

I do have Eleanor senior's death cert. thanks to Marilyn last year!

There were Herons all up and down the east coast, in the midwest and out in Los Angeles, CA. Eleanor could have been related to any of them and who knows where she was living before she married Alexander!

I still would be interested in Alexander's death cert. if you can scare that up. I'll keep digging on the others as much as my computer will let me!

I have some good news and bad news

Bad first, lets get it out of the way

I called the Rhode Island archives today and there isn't a marriage record for Alexander & Eleanor, recorded between 1890-1900

But the good news is

The archive has the birth record of the daughter born 5 Oct 1892. Gosh, I forgot to ask her name, but a copy is waiting for pick-up on Friday.
