Some of the passenger lists and census are available through this site, but not all are digitized.

A thank you from me too, paddyscar. I have been unable to find a death record for my great aunt in Scotland. There was a note in my great grandmother's album that she went to Manitoba with her son William so I had considered the possibility that she may have died there, but hadn't been able to find anything on her or William in Manitoba. This site had William's World War I Draft form that listed his mother as next of kin living in Bagot, Manitoba so at least I now know where they were in 1918. thistle

Hi Thistle:

Bagot, Manitoba is on the Canadian Pacific Railway, and it is likely one of those towns which sprang up to serve the railways/fur traders across the country. You might be interested in checking out this site, which shows you where Bagot is located.

** although, other than the map, it's not much use

This site shows another map of Manitoba, with Portage La Prairie being the regional centre, and Bagot is within the 50 KM 'commuter belt'. It would seem that Bagot is no longer considered a separate community on its own.

Hope these will be of assistance, as the census is released on a 90 year delay, so it will be some time before you can locate them that way.

Good luck with your search,

Frances
