Sheffield Steel Company of Montreal .....
Hello.......I'm wondering if this company is still in existence as I'm trying to trace relatives of a person who was a President of the Company in the mid 1900s.........his name was George Crichton .....he died in British Columbia in 1985 at the age of 81. His first wife .....Ross, possibly Helen and they had 2 children, the son possibly called Ross Crichton. He subsequently married Kitsy Woods-Crichton who was alive in 2001. Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks. Tass

I've checked the Dictionary of Canadian Biography online with no success.
The Quebec provincial archives have Montreal directories, the last being 1950 and I could not locate George Crichton or Sheffield Steel.
I did find a link to an article on Kitsy Woods Crichton at
http://www.nsnews.com/issues01/w031901/ ... einer.html
Links to the Westmount Public Library (English sector of Montreal) website
and the Virtual Reference website of the Canadian government follow

You may be able to locate some information through the Westmount PL local history files or directories.

Hello Scottishlass and Paddyscar
Many thanks for the time you have spent on my behalf. I'll follow up suggestions and, hopefully, will find some mention of George Crichton. I'd read that wonderful article on Kitsy.....I wonder if she's still alive?
