Hi Lomand(any relation to Willie?) & welcome to Talking Scot.
Have you posted your question on the Americas Forum because these Ancestors emigrated to the Americas or was it an error?
Where did you get all your info? Did this set of Grandparents have a few children? What are their names/dates of birth/christenings?
Have you checked the Old Parish Records for any info? This is searchable online at Scotlands People & you will see the link at the top.You can view the index online but any images have to be ordered & the quality of info varies from Parish/Parish & often is nothong more than names.
You can also view them at your nearest LDS Family History centre where for a small fee they will order in any film they have on file.
Did this set of grandparents live until the 1841 Census this also may give some hints as to offspring who may have still been at home with them & often unexpected bonus relatives-I was able to track a whol;e branch of my tree I would have otherwise never known about through a niece being in her Uncle's house for the 1841 Census-beware though for if you are not aware it is not until the 1851 where relationship to the head of household is included.
For modern day descendants you have to trawl a bit but I know that several people myself included have met connections on TS as well as other sites like Ancestry & Genes.
Good Luck & keep the questions coming?

related ?
Hi lomand - welcome to TalkingScot . I was quite excited for a mo -thought that we were related - and we still might be , but I don't know how yet.
I have a Margaret McEwen* married to William Drummond in 1834 in Comrie - obviously these cannot be the parents of William born 1795 though - rechecking the IGI I see there was indeed an earlier couple of the same names - seems to happen all the time in Comrie. .
*This Margaret McEwen was the sister of Anne my gggg grandmother (who married Donald McDougall) . Her ( Margaret's) William was a farmer in Cowden - don't think I have his parents yet.
Was your William Drummond married to Janet Stalker by any chance? - There is a gravestone for him close to my gggg grandparents and also to many other Drummonds - if you haven't had a browse through the Comrie MI's yet , it might well be worthwhile . Meanwhile I will PM the ones in my notes to you . ( it's just a few I'm afraid)
Sorry to be confusing - but I had to edit my post rather a lot when it finally dawned on me that we were talking about 2 different couples - still hopeful that they are related somehow though .
Cheers
Sally

Hi Sallie, My william was my grt grt grt grt grandfather, married Margaret McEwan in comrie, but not the same as yours, mine being earlier but samr names, must be related. My grt grt grt grandfather William , married Hannah Rayner in Hull Yorkshire in 1824. Richard Drummond, my grt grt grandfather was born in Hull, Yorkshire in 1827, think he had a brother called William. My grt grandmother was Mary Drummond, born Scarborough Yorkshire in 1855. Does this help, email me back. Kind regards. Jan .
