please can anyone with access to ancestry.com have a look for a
GRACE COOKE in Newyork for me in the Palatine Bridge area in the 1910
census.
I have through ellis island searching found a record of a Minnie Eid arriving in NewYork on the 25th August 1912.(i know she did not stay in America)but the contact details of her visit are listed as being a COUSIN
Grace Cooke Palatine Bridge .I have no idea of who Grace was since this is the only mention of the surname i have come accross.

There is only one hit for Grace Cook* in Montgomery County New York 1910. The location of Canajoharie is right next to Palatine Bridge so it's likely to be the right family. A look at the original image shows that her father's name actually looks more like Willet than Waller
The mother has had 5 children and 2 are living...been married 30 years. The father is editor of the newspaper. All members of the family are listed as born New York but Julia states her parents were both German. Augustus Jones is a brother in law and his parents are German too so he's a likely brother to Julia. He is a coal merchant. Adelaide is a maid

many thanks for looking for Grace Cooke for me
I'm afraid the info is all rather puzzling
now if there had of been an Irish connection or Scottish that would be
more like it but German hmn... no alarm bells are ringing .
I have tried ellis island looking for Grace using the family names that i know that would make her a cousin but no joy.
