Found some of the publics' responses typically Glasgow.

A friend's son decided that the policeman was being attacked so he would just go and help wrestle the man to the ground.

You'd think this was a regular ocurrance the way folk have been calmly describing what they saw and what they did.

Just arrived in Australia, and thought I'd check my e-mails, only to find what has happened. We flew from Glasgow Airport on Thursday. I'm glad none of the public seem to have been hurt, but definitely sounds like a terrorist attack. Sad to think that we went through years of this back home in Ulster, and now it's in Scotland. For my money, they picked now because Gordon Brown has just taken over, and they picked Glasgow because it is a soft target compared to places like Heathrow. Back home, when the IRA found it harder and harder to attack the army and police, they started to pick soft targets - milkmen who delivered to them, removal men contracted by them etc. One of the sad things about increased security at major installations is that the terrorists will simply look elsewhere for least likely and lesser protected targets. 50 deaths at Glasgow will generate as much publicity as 50 deaths at Heathrow. Back home, I used to cross the road if I saw a car I didn't recognise parked on a street. We used to exists in a state of hyper-vigilance, and I think we are fast approaching that state in Britain now. Thank God the ambulance driver saw the smoke coming out of the car in London and had the sense to raise the alarm. Hopefully this attack is now over, but we all need to be just as vigilant, thanks to Tony Blair and George Bush. Cheers guys...

Hi All

This attempted attack on Glasgow doesn't make sense to me, but then no terrorist attacks on innocent people make any sense to me.

It makes me feel sad that there is so much hate in the world. Hate combined with ignorance and religious extremism, which turns people into deranged killers.

Hi all, I had just posted the other day, about thanking the Americans on their hospitality, during my cousin Mary's visit to N Y andL A.
Well, now poor Mary's landed in R A Hospital in Paisley, where terrorist burns victim is.
It seems since she returned from USA,she's had terrible leg pains, and can't walk. Her daughter was stopped from visiting on Saturday, because this man had just been admitted. She was stopped again on Sunday, because of supect car and package, then the same thing happened today again.

Think its being made worse cause one of the two men,had been a doctor there!

Hopefully I'll be able to visit her on Wednesday.Surely things will have calmed down a bit by then, and it wont be long till she's back with her family.

Now here's a frightening addition to this story from BBC...

"Eight people arrested in connection with failed car bombings in Glasgow and London all have links with the National Health Service, the BBC has learned.
Seven are believed to be doctors or medical students, while one formerly worked as a laboratory technician"

What really makes me angry about the actions of these people is that the thousands of Muslims who work in the NHS are going to be facing undeserved suspicion.
