Margaret
Yes any relatively small place. There doesn't seem to be many matches so far and there seems to be more success stories on the board directly through names recently but you never know - early days
Anderson, McAlpine, Blue - Argyll
Dunn Fife /ML
Coutts, McGregor - Perth/Govan
Glen, Crow, Imrie - Angus
Scott & Pick ML
Mason - Co Down

Hi Mallog,
What a good idea. This thread could run and run!
My lot came mainly from Coldingham & Coldinghamshore right back to the 18thC so far. Their surnames were Wilson, Laing, Thorburn, Colven, Rae and Johnston.
In Eyemouth the surname was Cowe and Collin.
In Perthshire they were tenant farmers near Monzie with the surnames of Gould, McRaw and McIntyre.
My husband's ancestors were Darlings from Chirnside, Cormack's from Latheron and Wick, Taylors and Maxton's from Madderty and Tibbermore in Perthshire ...........
and the list goes on!
Rae
Names of interest: Perthshire- Taylor, McDonald, McRaw, Gould; Caithness- Cormack, Campbell, Sutherland; Berwickshire- Darling, Johnson, Whitlie, Forrest/Forrester/Foster, Barns/Barnes,Buglass/Bookless; Wilson, Thorburn, Cowe, Laing, Rae, Colven, Collin,
