Wance again Elaine,
I don’t know that much aboot this bit o’ the sou’side, so kept ma big gob shut and listened tae the locals..
It wiz it a funeral yesterday, in Govan, that ah mentioned Glencairn Drive.
Wan o’ the McGregors, sent me this wee map frae 1913, Pollokshields.
He said that at the time ye are looking at, it could be in either, East Renfrew, Govan, Burgh of Glasgow, Pollokshields, Kinning Park or Tradeston.
In the late 1900s there were several Burgh buildings there, not numbered.
He also said that the numbers could have changed, as at one point in time, part of it was a separate terrace, which eventually became Glencairn drive.
Then again Rab McGregor, is a moothie player
Enough said
Another wee point to remember, Elaine, if you are checking out census returns.
Don't get the schedule number mixed up with the house number.
I still do on occasion.

Well done that Lassie,
The reason I was so interested in the Drive, other than the number poser, was, there are three well kent Glasgow tradesmen living there.
The Weir Brothers, at No 18,were famous jewellers.
I collect Glasgow ephemera, and there are occasional articles in the news sheets of the day.
James Weir appeared in one of them.
But so glad you got sorted.
I hope someone will take a pic for you.
If not, I will do it next week, when I get back from invading England.
awrabest

A cat leaves pawprints on your heart
McDonald or MacDonald (some couldn't make up their mind!), Bonner, Crichton, McKillop, Campbell, Cameron, Gitrig (+other spellings), Clark, Sloan, Stewart, McCutcheon, Ireland (the surname)
