Course you will!

We won't tell you about the tearing hair out, hitting the computer with a hammer [comp-hammer] , caffeine craving frustration [kettle] you'll likely experience along the way - will we folks

Looking for details of a John (Jack) Henderson b1916? in Glasgow area? He was adopted as a child & possibly brought to the Netherly area of Aberdeenshire.

Thanks sooo much Wendy, a lovely photo. Apologies for the delay in replying but have been away for a couple of days with limited access to computer.
Sure miss the wee beast when I cant get to it  Spent the day going over all the things I learned on this site with my dad who is over the moon about it. Many thanks to all who have been patiently answering my questions.

Hi LuAnn

We are actually impatient when answering questions so you can get onto the next lot and ask some more. I know what you mean about suffering withdrawal symptoms when you can't get to a keyboard. My problem is - my wife is just as hooked on family history as I am.

Hi Wendy
Its good to welcome a fellow health professional on-board. My line was nurse teaching. You do realise that you have to forget all the modern disease names and go back to the old fashioned descriptors so you can help these non-medical folk translate certificates and causes of death.

As Mary said, we all were newbies and all we try and do is prevent folks spending a fortune on the wrong certificates. Its more fun if you can guide someone to find their own answers rather than giving it to them on a plate.

Johnston, Reside, Lyle all over the place !
McGilvray(spelt 26 different ways)
Watson, Morton, Anderson, Tawse, in Kilrenny

Morning Russell

Well i have the keyboard thing sorted as we have 2 pc's in our study :D
Everyone in our house wanted the pc at the same time, and one of the others would be standing at the door patiently awaiting their turn .. so the easiest thing was to get another one .. well that was my excuse!

I'm new to all of this geneology stuff so any pointers that helps me out is fantastic. I was delighted when a friend pointed me towards this site :D
I'll try and remember to use layman terms on here .. cheers

My husband had his family tree done by a company years ago because we drew so many obsticles on his surname ( Cowper ) seeing as it had changed from Cooper originally.

Lovin this site
