I don't recognise the name Wintocks. Have you any clue if it should be a village or a farm or what? And any idea what county or part of Scotland? (or is "Wintocks Scotland" as much as you have to go on?)

All the best,

I just found out that a family member left Wintock Scotland for Canada in June 1831. That is all I know right now. It was found in a letter and I am thinking perhaps the spelling is a little different now or a letters are not correct but may appeal spelt like Wintock.

I wish there was more...:)

Hi CG

My first thought was Winton in East Lothian.

Could you give us a name which might help pin down a possible place since many names can be relatively restricted to a particular geographic area.
