Talk about Quarriers at Paisley Museum

Post by AnnieMack » Wed Jan 16, 2008 4:09 pm

Anyone going to the meeting of Renfrewshire Family History tomorrow at Paisley Museum? I desperately want to go but the weather is transpiring against me as there is heavy snow forecast and I don't want to get stranded in me Scenic!

Hi Annie,

Did you make it to Paisley for the "Talk", or did the snow spoil it for you
:(

Regards,

Oh I got there and it was really interesting. I've actually been a bit preoccupied since as the lady who did the talk had photographs with her and in one of them was a wee girl who looked like me at a similar age. To make it more intriguing her name was Nellie Gray, and my mum's paternal side are Grays so I have been wondering if there is any possiblilty of a connection. It was odd to see a wee face that could have been mine looking out of a very old photo (1886).

Hi Annie

Glad you were able to make it. I have had too much on my plate to do anything recently or I would have been there.

The old photograph sounds a possible link to follow up. It must have been taken in the same year as your other one (I think they only were able to afford it one year).
It gave me a shiver up my spine that you should be so fortunate. My fingers are firmly crossed for you.
