The editor of BBC Who Do You Think You Are magazine has placed a post today on her magazine's forum stating that the series is due to commence on August 13th -
"the first episode is going to be broadcast on Wednesday 13 August at 9pm (barring any national calamities/sporting events that might shift it). I must apologise now for the wrong date in our TV pages which was left over from when we thought it was going to be broadcast in July. The first celebrity is going to be Patsy Kensit and we will be putting up information about each episode (including lists of locations and unseen footage) after each episode is broadcast."
The current issue apparently has a timetable for the new series which states it will run from August 13th to October 1st.
There has been no official confirmation from the BBC itself, but a press release from April about the new series can be read at http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressr ... hink.shtml.

Patsy Kensit was on Radio 1 on Friday promoting the show, definately starts on the 13th August
Gave a bit of an insight to how the programme was made, she stated that the researches contacted her and asked for details then , investigated the family trees and got back to her to say there was enough to make a programme out of then.
She then spent 3 weeks filming the bits we see on the TV and was just told to turn up on the day without knowing what was goingto be revealed.
I was thinking about all those poor celebrities whose families were deemed to be too boring
