HI Kathie,

Don't know about Glasgow, but the Greenock Blitz took place on the nights of May 6th and 7th 1941.

Hi Cathie,

May i ask why there was a possibilty of an air raid on 4th April 1941 at Crown St in the Gorbals? Just curious!

Clydebank Blitz was 13-14th March 1941, and air raid sirens would be going off long after this in all towns on both banks of the River Clyde right up to Glasgow City itself.

Contact The Mitchell Library after they open on 3rd Sep - they should be able to tell you.
If there was an air raid i'm sure it would've been in all the Glasgow papers at that time.

I was in Clydebank as a child on the two nights of the Blitz and there is a Crown Avenue, my mother lived at number 30.

Hello Ina, Jack, Lizzie and Davie
Thank you for your replies. I was born in Crown Street and my mother told me there was an air raid that night but she had had two strokes and I think now that she just had two separate events mixed up in her mind. I was just curious and thought I might check it out.
Thanks again
Cathie
