I've got the marriage entry for my great-great-grandparents. It shows my GGgrandmother's address as "Bearcloth Symington" in Lanarkshire. It may be "Boarcloth". I've done a google search, and squinted at old maps, but can't find it. Is it a street name?

gg grandfather was John Smith, his parents William & Ann........ and Ann's maiden name was SMITH! Not an easy lot to trace.

Thanks Scozzie,
or bringing back happy childhood memories of holidays and one school year in Symington, Lanarkshire.
The only place I can see on the map that bears any ressemblance to Boar Cloth is Braid Slack, but it looks more like a moor or hillside than anything else.

Go to www.old-maps.co.uk and search for Symington.
Choose the Lanarshire one and just south of the village is Boarcloth.
