I can't find it on either 1881 census or 1914 valuation rolls. I have never heard of it, and I 'cumfy Govan' as they say, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.
Where did you find the address?
regards,

I've drawn a blank too,
I looked at the 1909 map for the area, and bearing in mind that Govan parish stretched across the river, had a look at Whiteinch/Partick too.
The nearest I can see is a Merryland Street
It doesn't appear in the list of changed street names either.
I'm intrigued - do give us a little more information please

I'm not too great at explaining but hopefully this will help you to upload your image.
You have to be logged in and then.....
Click on Gallery (above)
Click on upload file
Click browse
This takes you to your computer where you should find the image you want to upload.
Double click on the file.
Click on continue - Your file is now uploaded.
I think you then have to wait for approval from TSAG who will post it in the gallery.
Good luck,
Annette M

Thank you Annette.
Your explaination was simple to follow and I have now sent over the certificate and I am awaiting approval from upstairs!
If and when the above mentioned is approved, you will find the address under the daughters married name, Mary Daly..
Also can someone clarify the address of the St Joe.s Home where Bridget
died some Marylandhill?
Again thanks everyone for your help..

An advanced search on the 1881 census CD for "252" and "Govan" comes back with 32 results at 4 addresses:
252 So Wellington St
252 Main St
252 Craigs St
252 Dumbarton Road
If it is one of these on the certificate, my favourite would be 252 Craigs St, but I am not convinced.

Re: places
Hello drapadew,
the registrar fooled everyone. Mary is at 25 Fleming Street in the 1901 census. The other place that could not be read was Garngadhill.
Regards,
John
