Who else lived there?

Post by CathieL » Mon Feb 06, 2006 1:15 am

Hello everyone
I have some address in Glasgow for the years 1906, 1907 and 1919 and I was wondering if there was anyway to find out who else was living at these addresses. Long shot I know but I thought I would give it a try

Hi Cathie

The Glasgow Story site http://www.theglasgowstory.com/valindex.php has Valuation Rolls, 1913-1914.

You may find the address on there.

Happy hunting !

Hi Tracey
Thanks for your reply. I had looked at that site before but is is only for 1913-1914, not the years I am looking for. I was hoping there was some place that kept the valuation rolls for the years I need and maybe had an e-mail address I could use for enquiries. I guessed it was a long shot but then nothing ventured nothing gained. It is my biggest brickwall but I will keep knocking at it and one of these days it WILL fall down.
Regards
Cathie :)

Hi CathieL

I can only think of The Mitchell Library or Park Circus to contact for the years you are looking for. What they hold is on here ......

Hi Tracey
That looks very promising, I will sent them an e-mail and see what happens. Thank you for taking the time to look for it, I can almost see a little light in the tunnel. Talking Scot is the best thing since sliced bread =D>

Hi Tracey

It's a neat trick  ....you only have to visit the tiny url store and tell them you want to trade in your oversized url for a tiny one  They take it in the back room and must run it through the dryer a few times or something but out comes a tiny url. Voila!!! If you google on tinyurl you're bound to find everything you need to know and more!!

(Apologies to Cathie for the thread drift  :!:

Best wishes
Jean
