Ayr street comfirm please-dechipering.....

Hello Everyone

Couldyou please confirm the name of the street in Ayr I think it is Charleston Road. What do the others think?

I think maybe it could be Holmston Road,with a shakey start.

I agree with Jinty - 3 Holmston Road, Ayr.

Holmston House, 3 Holmston Road is still a valid address - now the home of the Benefits Agency and an office of the South Ayrshire Council Social Work Department.

On looking at a 1937 Ordnance Survey map of the area, I think this is the building shown as Kyle Home (Public Assistance Institution, Ayrshire Joint Committee). Going back to the 1897 map, that building is the Kyle Combination Poorhouse.

I have looked at my local street map of Ayr and I can't find a Charleston Road
