Does anyone know what enumeration district the place of Knock and Maize (Wigtownshire) would have come under ?
Afraid I don't know that area at all.

Hi Caroline,
Knock and Maize can be found in Leswalt Parish, Wigtownshire.
Go to http://www.nls.uk/digitallibrary/map/ea ... _list.html
and select Sheet 3 - Stranraer
On that map Leswalt is the parish coloured green.
Click on the south end of that parish to zoom in until you can read the names of the places. Almost at the border of the next parish southwards, Portpatrick, you will find Knock and Maize, by the west coast.
