I don't know why, but I'd thought that I'd seen a link to a site where you put in the address of the place in Glasgow and the map would show you where that address is.

Hi Dennis,
Both www.streetmap.co.uk and www.old-maps.co.uk have a search by address, for the whole of UK. If the address is unique, or almost unique then it is easy. On the other hand, try searching for Queen Street, King Street, Main Street or High Street and you will get a long list of possibilities to choose from.
