Speir or Spier.....

Post by Sheryl Kelso » Mon Jul 03, 2006 5:20 am

I'm looking for anyone who has a connection to Allan Speir (1783-1841) and his wife Elizabeth Brown (1787-?) in the Kilmarnock, Ayrshire area.

Hi Sheryl

Sorry you've not had a reply yet to your post. Have you got a lot of descendants from them? It might be worth refreshing your post every few months as new members join all the time and might pick up yours.

You'll find folk very helpful here, particularly if you post a specific query when you get stuck or don't know where to look.

Cheers

Liz

Speir/Brown family

Post by Sheryl Kelso » Mon Mar 05, 2007 10:34 pm

Elisabeth Brown was born in Kilmarnock area in 1787. Her parents were Alexander Brown and Mary Wylie. No info on parents. Elisabeth married Allen or Allan Speir in November 1807 at Loudon and produced a family of at least nine children between 1810 and 1829 - Allan, Jean, John, James, Alexander, Gilbert, Andrew, Hugh, and another unnamed male child. Hope someone recognizes this family.
