glencairn drive

:?: hi there being new to this site i wonder if anyone can help me? my grandad was born in pollock shields 1889. his address was 102 glencairn drive. does this address still exist and if so how would i find any pictures? thanks for reading my message elaine

Seems like there are 3 in Glasgow according to Streetmap.co.uk

But this one appears to be in the Pollockshields area.
Glencairn Drive, Glasgow, G_41


As for extra info on the area someone else may be able to help you with that.

Hello Elaine,

I drop my son off at school just round the corner every morning. There are some beautiful houses there. Although some new houses have been built I would think 102 should still be there.
I'll have a look tomorrow and try to remember to take my camera.

I went along Glencairn Drive today but there is no house number 102.

Can I ask where you saw the address? When I hear from you I may be able to work out why.

Hi Annette and Elaine,

I had a wee look at the PO directories 1893, 1903 for Glencairn Drive and the highest number is 62 and on the 1963, the highest number is at 91 at Maxwell Public Park

Hello Davie,

Yes the odds go higher but the evens only went up to 66 for private houses. There is another building on the evens side which is why I have asked where the address was seen.

No Davie just old villas.
