24 McDougall Street

Post by Lizzie » Sun Oct 22, 2006 1:05 pm

My g grandmother Margaret Jack died 1903 at (24 McDougall Street Glasgow). The death certificate has everything else right except the place of death. According to all the usual places searched there was never any such a street in Glasgow.

Glasgow Street Names

Hello Lizzie,

Like Tracey said The Glasgow Guide is a great resource for Street names.

Another one is The Glasgow Story which has the valuation rolls and ward maps for 1913.

This oneshows 24 McDougall Street.

Kind regards,
Annette M

Thank you both, I now wonder what this place was and if it was the same in 1903!

This poor woman had a terrible life as far as I can see. I have been unable to find her in the 1901 census.
