Post by PaulCanada » Wed Apr 18, 2007 4:27 pm

I'm trying to pinpoint location of place called "East Bendings" or "East Bendon" in Kinneff Parish ... I've searched maps but don't see it ... any help would be appreciated ...

Hi Paul,

Haven't managed to find any reference to East Bendings or Bendon, but these sites might be of interest...

Update...

There appears to be a East Bendings, in or near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire.

Hi Paul,

East Bendings was in the north-west corner of Kinneff (and Catterline) parish, a short distance south-west of Stonehaven, Kincardineshire (part of Aberdeenshire these days, since local government re-organisation).

To see it on a current map, go to:
http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/
Click on Get a Map
Search for NO824817
Zoom out to see its location relative to Stonehaven, Aberdeen etc.

All the best,

AndrewP
