where was this street?

Hi every one
Once again I have got stuck. But this time with an address. Does anyone know where Marystone Street would have been. I have a marriage at St. Philomenas church in 1977, stating usual residence of Marystone St. Any help would be brilliant.

Hi Anne,

In Glasgow?

On google maps there is St. Philomenas Church Hall at 1255 Royston Road. Maryston Street is nearby.
I think the area would be Royston/Riddrie. I don't know if the street is still there.

According to my Glasgow Street map there is a Maryston Street in Blackhill, near Royston as Merlot said. Can't see a church there though. Is this the same district as given on the certificate?

Hi Annette,
Many thanks. I am waiting for the certificate to come as I have it ordered from the registrar at Perth.
So far the information I have gives the grooms usual address in 1977 and married at St. Philomenas Church, Glasgow.
I have a lady that I have used for a while at Perth, but as she isnt around very much the one I have dealt with didnt give too much on the phone. I am hoping that it arrives tomorrow.
By the way, it is one of the boys that you looked up for me, and the one you found is definately the right one. So again thank you for your help. I will update this as soon as I get the marriage cert.

I thought this site was on TS somewhere...it probably is, just me that can't find it!
A number of today's churches are shown on Glasgow Churches Together.
There's also an alphabetical or location list option.

Hi Merlot,
Cool. I have been up to see new found rellies a couple of times now and love every minute in Scotland. Even my 11 year old says she wants to move there.
Hope to go up for a christening soon, another little addition to a new found family.
By the way we stay in Cardonald.
