The Gypsy Queen?

Post by Dennis » Sun Jul 15, 2007 7:32 am

Hi:)

My mom seems to recall that there was a small passenger ship that would be hauled up the Clyde by Clydesdales; did West Nile St. play a part in this, as she says she remembers seeing the sparks from the horses shoes.

Couldn't find any pics to back-up her story.

Hi Dennis,

I found a reference to the Gypsy Queen and horses on the canal here.

West Nile Street isn't on the river but there used to be horse drawn trams onthat route.

Kind regards,
Annette M
