Stirling newspaper

Hello
can anyone please advise me as to name of the local newspaper for the Stirling area ?i want to see if i can track down an obituary in 1969 .

Hello Maggie

In 1969 there was another newspaper called the Stirling Journal and Advertiser but it closed down in the 1970s I think.

The library in Stirling has back copies of it and the Stirling Observer on microfilm; the staff there would probably look up the obituary for you.

thankyou for your message i had phoned Stirling library earlier today and a very helpfull lady very kindly looked up the obituary for me :D it has made my day .
