Hi Robbie and Margaret,
It has to wait for an Admin member to give approval and upload it-- someone will no doubt come on soon and do so...
Cheers,
Sarah

Hi Robbie,
I hope it works.[img]
Since I don't see a link to your photo yet, I'm wondering if you uploaded it correctly. If you are having a problem uploading it, you might try sending the photo to someone by email who might have better luck. You can send it to me if you like :)

Regards,
Anne H

Have a look. It's a sepia photo of a big house. Says it it G/ Mother's house.
If not there, Margaret, mail me and I will send direct.

Hi Robbiej

I have managed to find the photo.

I will sent it to my cousin and see if he can go and have a look.

You never said if the census 1881 could have been your G Grandmother. Did she have a sister called Jean? If it was then this could be the same place just the spelling difference.

As I said if I cannot get my cousin to go then I will be going to Scotland in the summer.

Regards Margaret

I am so pleased you found it !! I am wishing that my Cousin Archie, had been a bit more 'in tune' with me at looking for it when we went hunting !!
Yes I think she did have a sister Jean... that line I think - would have to dig out notes to confirm.... went into the Roxburgh's.
The house is on the Campbell side.
Mother's was William Baillie HAIR B/1862. M/Mary Watsopn Campbell (B/1870) Mary waas the daughter of Thomas Campbell B/1837 Lanark an Bearice McCrie Muir B/1836 Lanark.
THANK YOU.... SO VERY MUCH.

Thank you a million ! Margaret.
I hope that your relative is able to take a photo just to see if it is the same place. Imagine it still standing after all these years !
IF it was here in NZ It would be dust and rubble by now .... unfortunately we over here don't build to last ! and what was built 100 yrs ago isn't treasured.
Again many, many thanks, for your trouble. I do appreciate it.
:)
