Can't find any more than one Logie Newton. Funnily enough it is very near Easter Logie Aulton the farm that 'starred' in the Simpson/Cheyne saga on the Scottish People thread and that I think we decided was in Auchterless. Ythan Wells is very nearby also and the current postal address of Logie Newton is Huntly.
This almost certainly adds nothing to the debate but here is a nice picture of the area to access.

Accessible from the same page there is also a photo of a signpost at Logie Newton for Ythan Wells and it says that the distance is 2 miles so I'm sure that is the same Logie Newton.

thanks Anne & Sarah - now that you mention Helen Cheyne , didn't Cruikshank fit in there too somehow ? And a sudden unexplained southwards migration ? Its the Auchterless - Ythan Wells - Forgue triangle .
Sorry Yorvick , I'm getting a bit carried away
My great grandmother was in effect named after one of her father's employer's family - but only one of the surnames ( they were double-barrelled) was on her birth cert ( and her father was the registrar !! ) - but I have evidence that people referred to her with both surnames as middle names . I'm not sure I have explained that very well ....

Auchterless Triangle
Makes our women disappear
Auchterless Triangle Don't go too near
Looking at it from my angle
Do you see why I'm so mad
Auchterless Triangle Very bad!
